This Friday sees the release of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, a movie that is extremely important to the future of the film business. Only two films have made over 100 cr this year: Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. While both are hits, they fall into very different categories. Pathaan has made 545 crores, but Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has only made 145 crores, falling 400 crores short. There is nothing in between that really communicates how terrible the year has been for the industry thus far. Bholaa, the third-best film, aspires for a lifetime gross of 90 crores; as a result, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar would be the movie against which Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan would first be battling.

In contrast to the enormous sums the actor is accustomed to, particularly for his Eid releases, Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is predicted to gross between Rs 15 crore and Rs 20 crore on its first day of release. However, the movie's opening day statistics will be comparable to those of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, as the market has altered over the past several years.

Given that it has been touted as a mass entertainer intended to attract to single screen audiences in B centres, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has reportedly sold about 14000 advance tickets for day one at the three national multiplex networks. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar was marketed as an urban movie and made Rs 15 crore on its opening day. The romantic comedy has grossed Rs 145 crore nett since its debut last month, but rumours of a hefty budget have overshadowed its great performance at the box office.

The 2017 film Tiger Zinda Hai was Salman's last blockbuster. Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3, and Antim: The Final Truth, all of which he later starred in, all underperformed. Despite having his highest opening of his career (Rs 42 crore), Bharat still managed to earn more than Rs 300 crore worldwide. Salman will return as the spy Tiger in the third installment of the franchise after KKBKKJ; he previously played the part in Pathaan.

However, the impact would be felt because Friday falls on pre-Eid and is the last day of Ramzan, but post-pandemic life is much different for everyone. Even if an opening day of about Rs. 25 crores was anticipated if Eid had fallen on Friday itself, anything over Rs. 15 crores would suffice at this time.

In actuality, it would be reasonable to anticipate the movie to cross the Rs. 15 crores revenue threshold. If that actually occurs, the family action drama directed by Farhad Samji would be in an excellent position to see good momentum ramping up for the remainder of the weekend. Of course, the initial reports would also be important but after that, word-of-mouth would already start to spread. It is hoped that the movie will provide the correct amount of entertainment and that Saturday and Sunday would each bring in at least Rs. 25 crores.

Meanwhile, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is directed by Farhad Samji, and also features Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal and Palak Tiwari.
