Koel Mallick has no time to rest. She recently finished shooting for Sayantan Ghosal’s Sonar Kellay Jokher Dhon with Parambrata Chatterjee and Gaurav Chakrabarty. Within a week, she started shooting for the new film of the Mitin Mashi series.
The second film of Arindam Sil-led Mitin Mashi franchise, Jongole Mitin Mashi, was released last Puja. In only six months, Koel started shooting for the film Ekti Khunir Sondhane Mitin. She generally takes a break between two films. But this did not happen this time. In an interview with Anandavazar Online, Koel said, “The shooting was supposed to end in February. But the gap between the two shootings was reduced due to the upcoming Loksabha election.”
However, Koel is not anxious about Mitin. She smilingly said, “I did two films previously. Hence there is no reason to be afraid.” She thinks that she can blend with the character since she has some idea about it. “I don’t want to let down the audience. Hence, I concentrated on my diet and gym whenever I got time. It is because, this time people will see Mitin doing a lot of action.”
Koel described Mitin as her dream character. She said, “Women are victorious at the end of the day, no matter whether they protest or not. I see Mitin in every woman.” She said that fans also request her a lot on social media to play Mitin. “Not only women, I got reactions from men as well. They love Partha (Mitin’s husband) also.” Koel gave a logic behind that. She thinks that Mitin is incomplete without Partha. “Mitin can step outside her home and fight because Partha is there. I think there is a Mitin in each of our Bengali families,” she said.
Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Koneenica Banerjee, Gourab Chakraborty, Madhurima Basak, Roshni Bhattacharya, Anusuya Majumdar, Debraj Roy, Dulal Lahiri, Sandip Dey, and Shataf Figar are also in the film. The shooting is taking place in different locations in Kolkata. Directed by Arindam Sil, the film might be released in the second half of this year.
