This week's episode of Koffee With Karan featured Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor, who ensured that the show was entertaining throughout with their amusing, touching, and eccentric disclosures and anecdotes. One of the things revealed on the talk show was that Kriti Sanon had originally been offered Kiara's role in her Netflix film Lust Stories.
In the short film that Karan Johar directed for the anthology, Kiara and Vicky Kaushal played the key roles. Kiara was praised for her acting abilities and the manner in which she handled the scene in which her character Megha experiences an orgasm in front of the entire family.
While talking about the movie and how it helped Kiara stand out as an actor in the series, Karan acknowledged that it was challenging to find the right person to play the character while talking about the movie. He claimed that he first extended the role to Kriti.
The filmmaker revealed that he had offered Kriti the part, but she responded that her mother wouldn't let her. Karan went on to say that he assumed that every mother would stand in front and forbid their daughters. Actually, the story is quite empowering as it concerns a woman's right to give herself away as she pleases. As a result, Karan saw Kiara at Manish Malhotra's house and asked her if she could come meet him the next day for a short film. Of course, she said yes because he had known her previously as Alia Advani. She arrived, heard it, and then appeared to be a little disoriented.
Kiara asked Karan if he was directing, which the latter affirmed. Thus, the actor came on board instantly.
Then Kiara acknowledged that she only took the role since Karan was directing the film. She admitted that her main motivation for signing on to the movie was to collaborate with Karan Johar.
Lust Stories premiered on Netflix in 2018. The four short films that make up the anthology movie were each directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar.
