Whether you like it or not, filmmaker Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee With Karan have often stirred the hornet’s nest with celebrities being candid among their working as well as personal relationships as well as the stardom they enjoy.
As the seventh season of the controversial talk show is set to premiere on July 7 with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as the celebrity guests, Karan in a recent interview with PeepingMoon also revealed who he thought was the most candid among his guests.
The director picked Rakhi Sawant. The episode featuring her had the actress talking about going under the knife, something that celebrities have often been tight-lipped about, especially on popular talk shows. The actress had said that what God doesn’t provide, doctors do.
In response to Rakhi’s candid revelation, Karan recently said, “She was the first honest celebrity that existed and everyone asked, ‘Are you calling her to make fun?’” Karan said he was intrigued by her mind and still is. Though she was honest, the filmmaker said that he believes she is still holding back a lot more than what she let on.
In an earlier interview this week, Karan also revealed that there were instances where he had leaked rapid fire questions to certain guests and also edited out certain comments by celebs before the final version was aired.
The host said that sometimes celebrities would request him to not ask questions about certain topics and he would respect their privacy and relent. Talking about the episode where he shared the questions, he said it was the one with Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan during their debut Student of the Year, as he wanted them to come across as likeable celebrities. This was incidentally also the same episode where Alia had said she would like to get married to Ranbir Kapoor.
