Koffee with Karan 8 – Here’s what Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty revealed about children’s acting plans

Today, the ninth episode aired on the platform with its popular filmmaker host, Karan Johar welcoming the ‘true legacy’ and years of special bonding sealed with friendship and association between Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn.

The dynamic duo shared lots of inspiring back stories dating back to their fathers' generations and highlighted the stark difference between taking up challenges between the past and present generations.

While the candid conversations majorly delved into their careers and spirits to take on both success and failures with utmost determination and optimism, the trio were also seen laughing it out during some light-hearted moments.

Ajay Devgn on social media and obsession with star-kids

Actor-director Ajay Devgn was vocal about the social media and paparazzi's obsession with the star kids. He even mocked the nepotism remark by retorting that the social media’s excessive attention has made his daughter Nysa Devgan a star, even ‘without working or being in the film industry’.

The chat show host, Karan Johar, also took a dig at the nepotism tag and said that it is the media that put the star kids in the spotlight by clicking and following them non-stop. When he asked how the Shivaay actor-director feels when Nysa is clicked everywhere with the invasion of privacy, he responded ‘not liking it’ but can’t do anything, so he lives with it.

Nysa Devgan debut

While speaking about Nysa’s debut, the actor said, "Right now she doesn't want to be an actor. I don't think she wants to be,” but quickly added, “Tomorrow if something changes, they will run a 20-year-old interview that Ajay Devgn said this but right now, there is zero percent chance right now."

Rohit Shetty on his son’s debut

Following Devgn’s reply, the filmmaker host then moved to the other guest of the episode, the celebrated director Rohit Shetty, and asked the same. Shetty on the other hand opened up and said that his son Ishaan is quite interested in the industry and desires to make a career out of it.

"Yes, he wants to be in movies. He's made up his mind. He has to go through that whole format like I am going to take my car back from him and everything. He has to go through that struggle," the Golmaal director said while highlighting the emphasis on the struggle and hard work by making Ishaan start over.
