Karan Johar opened up about the time Raj Kapoor complimented Yash Chopra for beautifully capturing the essence of Tulip Gardens (Amsterdam), in his film Silsila. While Yash Chopra shot at the Tulip Garden for Silsila, Raj Kapoor shot at the same location for Prem Rog.
However, at an event, Raj Kapoor praised Yash Chopra for his brilliant work on Silsila. "So there was an event and a party and Yash ji was looking a bit down and this Yash uncle has told me himself and Raj sahab came to him and said, ‘I want to tell you one thing, everything else put aside, jis tarah tumhe essence capture kiya hai uss location ka, jo romance aap le aaye ho, I couldn't do that, You bought in a certain beauty of romance and poetry which I didn't manage."
Karan further mentioned Yash Chopra left it takes big heart for a filmmaker to praise another director's work. However, KJo believes today there's no scenario as such. The filmmaker stated that when a film releases, the least number of calls and messages are received from the industry.

Adding to what Karan said, Ajay Devgn that earlier they would get calls from the industry people and everyone was genuinely happy about each other's success. However, the actor believes things are not the same anymore.
