Koffee With Karan S8 E8 – Did Aditya Roy Kapur confirm that Kartik Aaryan has been cast in for the Aashiqui franchise?

Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan has always been one of the most controversial, spicy, yet funny chat shows in India. In each and every season, Bollywood celebrities come and share some of the sensitive issues in their lives. And we must say, this Season 8 has been one of the best out of the previous seasons. Since the very beginning, Koffee With Karan has been trending on Disney+ Hotstar, and making marks with millions of streams.

This time, Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor have graced the couch together for the first time. This is the first episode in Season 8, where two unmarried people have joined Karan Johar. Hence, as expected, it was quite a spicy conversation between the boys! While Aditya has finally confirmed his relationship with Ananya Panday, Arjun talked about his taking a break with Malaika Arora. Although Aditya was a little reserved, Arjun’s leg pulling and funny jokes kept the episode quite entertaining.

Aditya Roy Kapur on Kartik Aaryan's taking Aashiqui franchise forward

However, when Karan Johar asked Aditya how it feels that Kartik Aaryan has taken the initiative to carry forward the Aashiqui franchise, Kapur seemed happy and enthusiastic about the news. “I think he’s the perfect person to take the baton forward. There's no chance I could be in this. Because in the second part, my character went for a long swim from which he's not returning. So I feel like it's great”, Aditya shared.

Aditya also seemed very casual about Kartik’s taking the franchise, as he jokingly said that his character (Rahul Jaykar) in Aashiqui 2 has died, and he can now only come back as a ghost and haunt Kartik on the set.

While it is Aditya Roy Kapur’s fourth film, Aashiqui 2 is the third film of Shraddha Kapoor. Hence, the actor-duo were almost newcomers in the industry, and yet they gave fantastic performances, which made the film garnered over Rs. 110 Crore at the box office, and become one of the highest grossers of 2013.
