There’s no better time than now for filmmakers to visualise, ideate larger-than-life cinema, given how markets have expanded over the years and there’s enough technical advancement to translate their vision into reality. A debutant filmmaker Jai Kumar is set to make a film titled Koko, a futuristic sci-fi thriller, revolving around cyber war.

The glimpse of the multilingual project was unveiled by Pushpa 2 filmmaker Sukumar today amidst the crew. Popular entrepreneur Sandeep Reddy Vasa is turning a producer with the massive project under Mirai Entertainments. The promo commences when a group of hackers based out of Pakistan and China plot a cyber-espionage threat against India.

In the glimpse, a proficient black hat hacker, Nikki, makes use of a self-made artificial intelligence tool named ‘Koko’ to avenge her family’s loss and also to fulfill her father Ramanujan's wish. The tool interacts and executes operations using any electronic object as per its wish despite not being physically visible.

Ramanujan, the character in the film, is the brain behind the world's first Automation Artificial Intelligence, using RAM-ISU (Ram’s arrow which defines speed, accuracy, power) to guard the Indian Defence System. A crooked Chinese hacker, who wants to make a mark in cyberspace and enforce a cyber war on the country. The story revolves around the combat between KOKO and its enemies.

Koko, to be made on a lavish scale, with top-notch technical standards will go on floors this June. The film will be shot over 100 days across several locations like Vietnam, Ladakh, China, Kerala, and Hyderabad. It will simultaneously release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Vietnamese and Taiwanese languages in 2024. This is believed to be the first Indian film to release directly in Vietnamese and Taiwanese.
