Two years after its theatrical release in April 2023, the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Kolaambi has now dropped online. Nithya Menen plays a key role in the film, which is now accessible for streaming on Saina Play.
Kolaambi out on Saina Play
Despite its dismal box office result, the film received positive reviews for both its plot and the performances of its cast. An elderly couple are living among Kolaambi, or silent loudspeakers. The main focus of the film, however, is how the burden of a sinister secret occasionally troubles them. Other films that debuted on OTT this week are Sahasam, Checkmate, and Maine Pyar Kiya. OTTplay Premium members can access these via Sun NXT and Lionsgate Play. Kolaambi is also expected to be available on Amazon Prime Video and Manorama Max as well soon.
T K Rajeev Kumar is the film's director. He has penned the screenplay for Kolaambi himself. Renji Panicker, Rohini, Sijoy Varghese, and Dileesh Pothan all play significant roles in this heartfelt drama. Ramesh Narayan composed the music. Resul Pookutty recorded the sound for this movie and Ravi Varman is the cinematographer. Bahubali-fame Sabu Cyril has helmed the production design. At the 50th International Film Festival of India in Goa, Kolaambi had its debut in the Indian Panorama.
