There are many reasons to look forward to director Krish Jagarlamudi's upcoming film Konda Polam. After many years, we're getting to see a mainstream filmmaker adapting a Telugu novel onto the screen. Konda Polam is a novel that has won awards at several literary events and gained instant acclaim for portraying the ground realities of the shepherds in the vicinity of the Nallamalla forest. Uppena star Vaisshnav Tej and leading actress Rakul Preet Singh are pairing up for the action-adventure that is all set to hit theatres on October 8. The film's trailer was unveiled a few days ago.
Konda Polam revolves around a youngster Kataru Ravindra Yadav, who after several unsuccessful attempts at making a career in the corporate sector, goes land grazing with his father Gurappa. There are several roadblocks that affect Ravindra's path, yet it is steely resolve that helps him get past them with ease. He soon falls in love with a woman named Obulamma, with whom he shares playful chemistry. Ravindra Yadav's next challenge comes in the form of a tiger that threatens to derail the existence of shepherds. Will he stand tall and do the needful?
The film produced by Y Rajeev Reddy and J Sai Babu under First Frame Entertainments also features Sai Chand, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Hema, Ravi Prakash among others in crucial roles. Konda Polam was shot entirely at a forest in the middle of a lockdown and has cinematography by VS Gnana Sekhar, music by MM Keeravani. The latter has also turned lyricist for a number titled Obulamma that topped music charts recently. The other lyricists for the film are Chandra Bose and Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Details regarding the streaming rights of the film are yet to be revealed.
