The medical drama starring Mohit Raina and Konkona Sen Sharma has been renewed for a second season. Following the popularity of Nikkhil Advani's Mumbai Diaries: 26/11, Amazon Prime Video is eager to continue the story with additional seasons. A source from the creative team told Mid Day that the sequel is scheduled to go on floors in Mumbai by the summer of this year.

While the core cast remains the same, the second season will feature a fresh tale. This time in Mumbai, the employees at Bombay General Hospital will face a different crisis. According to the source, all of the characters from the first season, namely Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande, and Mishal Raheja, will return for the second season, says the source for the tabloid.

They added that the eight-part series will delve deeper into the backstories of Dr. Kaushik Oberoi and Social Services Director Chitra Das, played by Raina and Sharma, respectively.

The source shared that they will dig deeper into Dr. Kaushik's and Chitra's personal lives. Kavish Sinha, the casting director, is currently on the lookout for performers to play the new roles that will be introduced in the upcoming season.

The series marked the web series debut of Konkona. Talking about the same, the actor had earlier told India Today that she had never done a web series before, so when she began looking at scripts, all she wanted to do was find something that she would enjoy watching.

The Amazon Prime Video series Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is a medical thriller set in a hospital's emergency room. It delves into the difficulties experienced by the hospital's medical staff, as well as other first responders around Mumbai, in dealing with a massive disaster. The ones doing the fixing are the most broken in this effort to save lives and heal others.
