Team Kranti looks in no mood to pay heed to the criticism surrounding the film. Following an encouraging opening on January 26th, both public and critical response to the film was largely divided with one section hailing the makers for sharing a 'strong message' through the film and the other pulling up V. Harikrishna & Co. for the apparent laziness in the making of the film. And yet, one sees the entire team celebrating the success by claiming that the film has already collected more than Rs. 100 crores, despite trade reports suggesting that the actual numbers are nowhere close.

At the recent Kranti success meet held in Bengaluru, the main cast and crew of the film gathered together to address a select few members of the media (including YouTubers and social media influencers). The agenda, of course, was to acknowledge the box office success and also thank the fans and the specific section of the media that helped the film in its pursuits. And Challenging Star Darshan, the main star of the evening, did not shy away from showering gratitude on his 'celebrities' and also address the fact that his film, quite indeed, received a lot of flak from those members of the media who weren't present at the success meet.

"I must thank those who are trying to spread the negative word about the film because the more they criticize the film, the people have grown more curious. And those who hadn't watched the film were suddenly interested because they wanted to know what the film was all about. Some of them came up to me to ask if those posting negative comments had nothing better to do and when I wondered what that meant, they said that they watched Kranti only because they were curious to know how bad the film was. Another interesting thing is the lengths people go to post negative comments on ticketing platforms. Those platforms allow you to post a comment only if you buy a ticket and I am baffled to know that so many have bought tickets only to write something negative. But I will thank all of them and hope they do well because when you accept the rewards, you have to also accept the brickbats," said Darshan.

Although Kranti was originally planned as a pan-India release, the makers eventually brought out only the Kannada version with the remaining dubbed versions expected to drop straight on OTT. The film, reportedly, has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video and is likely to debut on the platform sometime in March.
