Kranti: Puneeth Rajkumar fans miffed over Darshan's film not featuring a tribute to late actor

Looks like fans of Puneeth Rajkumar have a new bone to pick with Challenging Star Darshan. With social media currently abuzz with posts related to Kranti, Darshan's latest release, many have raised the concern that the film does not duly pay a tribute to the late actor and thus failing to keep up the tradition that Sandalwood has been following since more than a year.

Following Puneeth Rajkumar's tragic demise in October 2021, most Kannada theatrical releases have featured a special mention of the actor in the form of a tribute. Almost every single big release since then has done so and one certainly hoped that, despite the ongoing feud between the fans of Darshan and Puneeth Rajkumar, team Kranti would certainly pay their respects to the Powerstar.

"Kranti is the first movie to be released without Appu's photo in the title card. This tells us how jealous he is, if #Appu loves him goes that movie, it will not be called true love for Appu," wrote an ardent Puneeth Rajkumar fan in his tweet.

Echoing the same sentiments, many other social media users expressed their disappointment over what's been termed as a grave lapse from team Kranti's end. And with the title credits of the film instead featuring a special 'thank you' note to all the Darshan fans or 'celebrities', Puneeth Rajkumar fans have now called out Challenging Star & Co. for not having 'acted maturely'.

During the pre-release promotions of Kranti, one saw the feud between Challenging Star Darshan and Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar fans be amplified. With social media serving as the new battleground, the exchange between the two sides grew intense with each passing day but most of it remained harmless until the Hospate incident day came along, blowing things further out of proportion.

For the unversed, Darshan was attacked by an alleged Puneeth Rajkumar fan during the 'Bombe Bombe' song launch event in Hospet. A slipper was hurled at the actor and soon enough, the matter hit the headlines and the allegations caused the rift between the two fan groups to get worse. Although Darshan refused to comment or point fingers, the actor did say that he would address the incident in due time.
