Krishand to direct Mammootty's next film? Here’s what we know...

National Award-winning filmmaker Krishand RK, who is renowned for his critically acclaimed works such as Aavasavyuham and Purusha Pretham, is reportedly in talks to make a film with Malayalam megastar Mammootty. The director, who is currently working on his upcoming web series, has apparently been in talks with the Kannur Squad star for a new film. 

The director reportedly discussed the theme of the project and Mammootty seems to have liked the subject and is interested in taking it up. It is also reported that Krishand is currently in the final stages of scripting the film and will roll out the project in 2024. If reports are to be believed, this will be another promising film of the megastar to look forward to in 2024. The Malayalam director rose to fame through his 2018 web series Utsaha Ithihasam and went on to make films like Aavasavyuham and Purusha Pretham.

Krishand’s next is a web series titled Gangs of Trivandrum

Tentatively titled Gangs of Trivandrum, Krishand’s upcoming series is slated to be streamed on SonyLIV. This is Krishand’s third web series, after Utsaha Ithihasam and Kraya Vikraya Prakriya. Currently in the pre-production stage, the director and his team had earlier released a casting call invite, seeking actors who are fluent in the Trivandrum accent.

Mammootty to play a prominent role in Abraham Ozler

Meanwhile, Mammootty, who has been basking in the success of Kannur Squad and Kaathal - The Core, is set to make an extended cameo appearance in the Jayaram-starrer Abraham Ozler. According to the latest updates, Mammootty’s character in the Midhun Manuel Thomas directorial will have a screentime of over 45 minutes and he appears in the most crucial moments in the narrative. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that the megastar has a full-fledged negative role in the movie. However, the makers of Abraham Ozler have yet to confirm these reports.
