For the unversed, Krishna Aur Kans is based on the ISKCON Founder, Srila Prabhupada’s book Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Back in 2012, Ashish S.K., the executive producer of the film, and CEO of Reliance Animation, the company who's behind the filmmaking, stated that Krishna Aur Kans was not a difficult decision for them to make it, as Lord Krishna is admired by a wide range of people, suprisingly both Indians and Westerns as well.
Ashish also revealed that the feature film version was actually a natural extension in order to be able to tell the story of Lord Krishna in a linear, and more conclusive form.
