Krishna Vrinda Vihari, the romantic comedy which was actor Naga Shaurya's third theatrical release in just a year, had released in screens across the globe on September 23. The film was directed by Anish R Krishna and starred Shirleya Setia as the female lead. Radhika, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Satya, Brahmaji and others played supporting roles in the light-hearted entertainer produced by Usha Mulpuri under Ira Creations. Shankar Prasad Mulpuri was the presenter.
After completing its theatrical run, Krishna Vrinda Vihari is now OTT bound. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the rom-com and will premiere the film on October 23, a month after its big-screen release. Mahati Swara Sagar's album was one of the film's major highlights with the picturisation of Varshamlo, Emundhi Raa drawing praise from several corners. Sai Sriram had cranked the camera for the project edited by Tammiraju. Bujji was the co-producer.
The romance revolves around Krishna, a youngster hailing from an orthodox Brahmin family who shifts to the city after bagging a job. He falls in love with a superior Vrinda, a North-Indian girl. Despite Vrinda's initial resistance, she responds to his advances and romance blossoms. However, in a bid to convince their parents about their marriage, Krishna hides a crucial facet about Vrinda's health from them. While they tie the knot, how will they deal with the complications arising out of this mess?
Upon its release, Krishna Vrinda Vihari received largely poor responses from critics and audiences alike. Several viewers had compared the film's thematic similarity to Nani's Ante Sundaraniki, which also revolved around the conflicts between the couple's family over a series of lies. Strangely, the latter is also streaming on Netflix. The other crew involved with its production were Ram Kumar, the art director and the digital head MNS Gowtham.
