The romantic comedy Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, starring Golden Star Ganesh and Malavika Nair in the lead, is one of the biggest hits of the year for Kannada cinema. The film, directed by Srinivasa Raju, whose claim to fame has been making violent movies like the Dandupalya series, has a simple and oft told story, but what worked for it immensely, is the music by composer Arjun Janya. Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi has at least 7-8 songs, most of which were runaway hits right from when the lyrical videos came out.
Dwapara was, undoubtedly, the most popular, followed by songs like Chinnamma, My Marriage is Fixed, Sri Krishnam, among others. A few days ago, the full video song of Dwapara was released, which has now been followed by that of Chinnamma. A romantic duet, featuring the lead pair busting a few energetic moves, Chinnamma has been sung by Kailash Kher and Indu Nagaraj. Written by Kaviraj, the song has been choreographed by Shekhar.

The full video drops are seen as a precursor to the film’s impending OTT release. According to reports, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, which has been in theatres since August 15, is set to drop on Amazon Prime Video shortly. The streamer is yet to announce a release date for the film.
Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi has Ganesh as Krishna, the head of the Krishna Group of Companies, who falls head-over-heels in love with Pranaya (Malavika), an orphan, who takes care of the day-to-day running of the orphanage she grew up in. Worried that the impression his socio-economic status leaves on Pranaya would discourage her from engaging in a relationship with him, Krishna pretends to be a driver on the look out for a job and gets hired by her.
His plan – to make Pranaya see him for who he truly is, beyond the money, high-end cars, suits, etc. – works, and the duo get married. But when a spurned lover seeks revenge, Krishna ends up in a coma, waking up with retrograde amnesia, and having forgotten his time with Pranaya. Is there still hope for the couple?
