Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi’s Ganesh and Srinivasa Raju to reunite; no Arjun Janya, though

Golden Star Ganesh is, reportedly, reuniting with director Srinivasa Raju, who gave him his 2024 hit, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. Srinivasa Raju, who was earlier known for his work on the ultra-violent Dandupalya series of movies, is said to be contemplating making another romantic drama aimed at family audiences, much like Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi.
Srinivasa Raju to collaborate with Hesham Abdul Wahab
The filmmaker, who has been vocal about music being a major cornerstone of romantic dramas, is, however, going in a different direction with the album. He is collaborating with Malayalam composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, who has also forayed into Telugu cinema with films like Kushi and Hi Nanna.
This move has surprised netizens since Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi’s success rode on the popularity of the music by composer Arjun Janya. Songs like Dwapara, Chinnamma, Hey Gagana, among others were massive hits and given that Srinivasa Raju had not revealed a trailer prior to the film’s theatrical outing, the music was all that drove audiences to movie halls.

“Film hit agidu arjun janya songs inda; iga avare illa”, was a common refrain seen on social media after news of the Ganesh-Srinivasa Raju collaboration came out. When Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi released in theatres and became a runaway hit, the word-of-mouth was that the team had presented a story with absolutely no novelty factor, but since Kannada audiences had not had a family entertainer in theatres for a while, they went for whatever was available, which, just so happened to be Ganesh’s film.
Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi had the Golden Star as a rich business tycoon, who falls in love with an orphan, Pranaya, from a middle-class background, but hides his identity from her, while wooing her. After they get married, though, they become victims of a violent attack, in the aftermath of which, he loses his recent memories, including his relationship with Pranaya. The film brought Malvika Nair to Kannada cinema.
