Kristen Stewart joins cast of A24 romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding

Kristen Stewart is set to star in an A24 romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding, which will depict a love story “fueled by ego, desire, and the American Dream.”

The movie will be directed by Rose Glass, best known for her 2019 indie blockbuster Saint Maud (available on Netflix), from a story she co-wrote with Weronika Tofilska, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The premise of the film revolves around the distinct attributes required to thrive in the world of bodybuilding competition. Stewart will play the “protective lover” of a female bodybuilder in the film.

Andrea Cornwell of Lobo Films and Oliver Kassman of Escape Plan Productions will co-produce Love Lies Bleeding with A24.

As for Kristen, she was nominated for her first Academy Award for playing Princess Diana in Pablo Larrain's drama Spencer earlier this year.

Her other upcoming project is David Cronenberg's next science fiction thriller Crimes of the Future with Léa Seydoux, Viggo Mortensen, Scott Speedman, and others. It will be released in June after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival 2022, which opens May 17.

Kristen will also soon be making her directorial debut with Chronology of Water, an adaptation of Lidia Yuknavitch's memoir of the same name.
