After completing a decade in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon has finally found a place in the industry. The actress, recently seen in Crew, spoke about getting limited opportunities in the industry. She also recalled newer faces getting better opportunities because they were from a filmy background. During her latest interaction, Kriti spoke about facing nepotism during her decade-long career and how it made her frustrated, at least initially.
What Kriti said
Kriti recently spoke to Pinkvilla and mentioned she was going through a phase where she got limited opportunity as compared to her potential. “There was a phase where I was just very restless because I knew that I had way more potential than what I could portray in the opportunities that I had in front of me,” the actress said, adding that she wanted deeper roles to show her true potential. Kriti described it as a ‘bada vessel’ that could speak volumes of her talent.
On facing nepotism
Kriti further spoke about kids from filmy background getting better roles. She said, “At that point, I was also seeing some new faces, some of them belonging to the film background, coming in having not done anything and getting opportunities that I was like, how?”
Kriti’s claim-to-fame movies
Both Kriti and Tiger left a mark with their debut movie Heropanti, which released in 2014. A mass film, Heropanti paved the way for both the actors and 10 years down the line, they have both made a name for themselves through their respective projects.
While Tiger is known as an action hero, Kriti explored beyond the urban girl roles through Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi. She gave the biggest hit of her career in Mimi. Kriti further received the Best Actress award at the National Awards for her role in the movie. The actress’ last performances are in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew, both of which worked at the Box Office. Crew is running successfully in theatres and TBMAUJ is also still in theatres in limited locations.
