Hrithik Roshan will be taking over the helm of the film Krrish 4 as director, marking a watershed moment in Indian cinema. The actor will team up with Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films (YRF) for the upcoming fourth installment of India's most famous superhero franchise. Both parties aim to create a blockbuster that can compete with global production standards while staying true to Indian storytelling traditions.
According to a Pinkvilla source, Krrish 4 will be Priyanka Chopra Jonas' long-awaited return to the franchise and Hrithik's first film as a director. This is the fourth film installment in the Krrish series, and the iconic actor will be returning to her role as Priya.
Hrithik and Priyanka have an unmatched working chemistry, making them a winning combination. Since the plot of Krrish 4 continues the characters' journey from Koi Mil Gaya to Krrish, Krrish 3, and now the fourth installment, PeeCee's participation was more of an obvious choice. An insider told the entertainment portal that the actor was "bowled over" by Hrithik's vision for the franchise and was "ecstatic" to see him direct the film.
One of the most technically challenging Indian films to date is currently in preproduction at YRF, where a devoted crew from YFX is working tirelessly on previsualisation (pre-viz). Along with their respective writing teams, Hrithik and Aditya Chopra are meticulously honing the script.
The source said that some projects are planned with visual effects in mind, but Krrish 4 is one of those rare films where the introduction of visual effects is a byproduct of the story, which is absolutely enchanting—pun intended.
An extra dose of nostalgia and thrills will be added to Krrish 4 with the return of the beloved alien Jadoo, who last appeared on the big screen 23 years ago in Koi Mil Gaya (2003).
The first quarter of 2026 marks the start of filming, and casting is currently underway. With Hrithik Roshan wearing the black cape again after 14 long years, Krrish 4—rumoured to be one of the most costly Indian films ever made—promises to give an immersive superhero experience.
