Krysten Ritter, known for her roles in Breaking Bad and Jessica Jones, has boarded the cast of HBO Max’s miniseries Love and Death, led by Elizabeth Olsen.
The series, which is based on Texan woman Candy Montgomery accused of murdering her friend Betty Gore, is executive produced by David E.Kelley and Nicole Kidman. Lesli Linka Glatter will direct, and is also attached as executive producer.
Olsen will essay the role of Montgomery, Lily Rabe will be seen as Gore, while Ritter will play her friend Sherry Cleckler. The cast also includes Jesse Plemons, Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, and Tom Pelphrer.
Variety writes that the show is based on the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, and Texas Monthly articles “Love & Death In Silicon Prairie, Part I & II”. Lionsgate Television is producing the show in collaboration with HBO Max.
Ritter was recently seen in Netflix’s adaptation of JA White’s novel Nightbooks that is currently streaming on Netflix. Her last TV appearance was in Jessica Jones, which ended its three-season run in 2019. Variety mentions that she will soon direct four episodes of a Peacock supernatural series titled The Girl in the Woods.
