Ever since Ekta Kapoor announced KTina back in 2019, fans have been patiently waiting for an update on the film. Kapoor had roped in Disha Patani to headline the film, even posting a delightful picture of the artist to announce that filming had begun on the project. But unfortunately, the pandemic had struck a little while later, and reports started to emerge that the makers had to shelve the project. But it seems that KTina is gearing up to go on floors yet again, albeit with a change in cast.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the film’s initial schedule had faced a number of snags due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The makers are planning to resume work on the film again soon, but Disha will not be headlining the film, as previously announced. Ananya Panday and Nushrratt Bharuccha had reportedly been approached by the makers to replace Disha. An official announcement regarding the same is yet to be announced.

The upcoming film will be directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, and the film’s story reportedly was a ‘special’ one for Raaj and Ekta. The director is currently awaiting the release of his next film, Dream Girl 2. Ananya also stars in the latter, which Ekta is a producer on.

Ekta had first announced KTina back in 2019, and the producer had shared a photograph of Disha which featured the actress wearing a number of rings and bracelets. Ekta had captioned the post with “KTINA ka sab ko ‘JAI MATA DI’ ! ( she used to b TINA ab KTINA as K suits her ...her Astro said )but yaaaar who wears so many rings???? @dishapatani As never before #favscript #shootbegins”.

Meanwhile, Disha was last seen in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns, which also featured Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham and Tara Sutaria. The actress’ upcoming films include Project K and Yodha.
