Kubera is one of the most-awaited films in Telugu cinema, as Dhanush and Nagarjuna have teamed up for the first time in their careers. On top of that, the crazy director Sekhar Kammula is helming this biggie, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The social drama is set for release on June 20, 2025, and the makers are busy promoting the film aggressively.
Meanwhile, the censor process of the film has been wrapped up, and a U/A certificate has been given. Amid all this, the shocking aspect is that the runtime has been locked at a whopping three hours and fifteen minutes. This news has spread everywhere and has become a major talking point.
When asked about this, producer Sunil Narang said, "We did not have time to edit the film and sent the final cut to the censors. Three hours and fifteen minutes is a very lengthy runtime, and very soon, we will bring the runtime down to mostly three hours and fifty minutes."
When asked further whether such lengthy films will be watched by the audience, he said, "Lengthy runtime is not at all an issue. If the narrative is gripping, no one will complain about such issues. This has been proved by many films in the past, and the same will happen with Kubera as well."
Sekhar Kammula, of Happy Days and Godavari fame, is known for making films over a longer period, and the same happened with Kubera too. It has been three years since the film was announced, and Sunil Narang says that since the film has two big stars and was shot in real locations, getting dates sorted and location permissions took a lot of time.
