The annual Cannes Film Festival is here! Regarded as one of the most prestigious film festivals across the globe, this festival witnesses a slew of celebrities across the globe. Representing India, actors like Anushka Sharma, Manushi Chhillar, Esha Gupta, Vijay Varma, Sara Ali Khan, producer Guneet Monga among others will represent India at a global stage.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur will address the Inaugural Session through a video message to showcase India as a global hub for content creation at the 76th edition of the Cannes Festival.

And now, in the latest development, it is learned that legendary singer Kumar Sanu’s daughter Shannon Kumar Sanu will be making her Cannes red carpet debut this year. As reported by Times Now, Shannon spoke about making her Cannes debut and said, “This honestly feels surreal. I am glad to get this opportunity. I have worked hard to make a tiny place in the big industry for myself and I see it as my beginning. I am so grateful and humbled by God’s grace... many more to come."

Unlike her father, Shannon showed a keen interest in pursuing her acting skills. In 2020, she debuted as an actress in the movie The Big Feed in the year 2020 alongside American actor Manolo Vergara. Shannon is currently shooting for the television series Mystical Inheritance of Adina Hassan opposite American actor Ryan Kelley.

Talking about Cannes, Indian celebrities Sara Ali Khan, Urvashi Rautela, Dolly Singh, and Aditi Rao Hydari are also expected to attend the gala. Four Indian films have made it to the official selection at Cannes Film Festival including Agra, and Kennedy.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L Murugan will lead an Indian Delegation to Cannes International Film Festival this year. He will be accompanied by Manipuri actor Kangabam Tomba.
