Kunchacko Boban’s collaborations with Mahesh Narayanan always seem to push him as an actor. In their latest film Ariyippu, which is their second project together after Take Off, the duo shot across the country and the actor chose to take the intense route to shape up his character in the film.

Talking about the film, Kunchacko said that it’s an intense and thrilling family drama that is set against the backdrop of a scam in a factory and was shot in locations in Delhi, Noida and Faridabad. The movie revolves around the stress that his character goes through and how it affects his family.

Kunchacko said to play the part, he ensured that he cut down his sleep to about four hours a day. It also had him in a raw and distressed look. Also, that he had sustained a shoulder injury meant that he couldn’t work out and hence had paunch while essaying the character; all of this added to the authenticity of the role in the movie, which he is also co-producing along with Mahesh.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the actor said that the movie has Mahesh’s best script till date. “We have worked hard to achieve those results,” said Kunchacko, whose next release is Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s Nna Thaan Case Kodu.

The upcoming movie, which will hit theatres on August 12, has the actor playing a thief who files a case after being bitten by a dog. The actor speaks Kasargode dialect in the movie, which also has him in an aged look. The movie, most of which is set inside a courtroom, also has Vikram actress Gayathrie Shankar as the female lead.

Meanwhile, Kunchacko has also completed shooting for Pakalum Paathiravum and Ottu. He is next set to begin shooting Senna Hegde’s Padmini, which is a comedy.
