Kunchacko Boban is one of those actors, who have tried different genres and proved their versatility time and again. The popular star, who made his acting debut with the blockbuster movie Aniyathipravu and emerged as an overnight sensation, successfully broke his romantic hero image with some powerful roles in the last decade.

In the recently aired Galatta Plus Mega Malayalam Roundtable 2023, Kunchacko Boban opened up about becoming a part of some of the most loved multi-starrer films, throughout his career.

Kunchacko Boban says cinema is the priority, not the screentime

When he was asked why Malayalam actors never hesitate to share the screen in multi-starrers, Kunchacko Boban had an interesting answer. The actor, who played key roles in some of the most-loved multi-starrers of recent times including Traffic, Virus, and 2018, stated that cinema is always the priority, for any passionate actor. He also added that the common thing that binds actors together is the excitement about a project.

The excitement to do something new with a film or portray with a film is the main trigger point to team up with the other talents in the industry. Kunchacko Boban, added that teaming up with like-minded people for cinema is a great experience.

“Because for them, cinema is the priority. Not just the screen space or screentime – that doesn’t matter,” stated the actor. The Nna Thaan Case Kodu actor added that if they have a wonderful character with less screen space, but still can be a part of a wonderful movie, that is what matters for most actors.

Kunchacko Boban says actors are the new ‘stars’

The talented actor, who clearly rediscovered himself as an actor in the last decade with a great variety of roles, opined that actors are the new ‘stars’. Kunchacko Boban feels that the current scenario of Malayalam cinema celebrates artists, purely based on their talent. The Chaaver actor added that it is a highly appreciable change.

Chaaver, the recently released Kunchacko Boban starrer which is currently streaming on Sony LIV, has received positive reviews from the audiences. The actor has an exciting line-up of upcoming projects including Aaram Paathiraa, which is a sequel to the blockbuster movie Anjaam Paathiraa, action thriller Grrr, Mariyam Tailors, and much more.
