While his latest release Bheemante Vazhi is a feel-good satire, Kunchacko Boban once again plays a serious role in director Ajai Vasudev’s film Pakalum Pathiraavum, which is currently being shot in Wagamon.
Rajisha Vijayan plays the lead actress in the movie, which also has Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam fame Manoj KU, Seetha and Thamizh in pivotal roles. The film, which is produced by Sree Gokulam movies, is scripted by Nishad Koya who had earlier penned the screenplays for Kunchacko Boban’s Ordinary and Shikkari Shambu.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Nishad had said that the Ajai Vasudev directorial is based on NN Pillai’s Dam. The movie, which is touted to be a suspense thriller, revolves around a financially-struggling family who hosts a mysterious traveller for a night.
NN Pillai’s play Dam was based on a one-act drama titled Lithuania in 1915 by Robert Brooke. Nishad told us that he had discussed the idea of doing a film based on Pillai’s play to the latter’s son and actor Vijayaraghavan, who had given them the go ahead.
The movie, which is currently being shot in Wagamon, has Stephen Devassy as its composer and Faiz Siddique of Operation Java fame as the cinematographer. Kunchacko has shot a few of his portions and is expected to complete the rest soon. The actor, who also completed the shoot of Ottu last month, is expected to start work on Mahesh Narayanan’s Ariyippu, which he is also co-producing. He also has Enthada Saji, in which he will be teaming up with Jayasurya again.
