Vishnu Unnikrishnan’s entry into Malayalam cinema happened a long time back, but the writer-actor is slowly making a space for himself today. The makers of the actor’s next titled Kuri, have released the film’s motion poster.
The motion poster starts off with a shot of an old looking police station building, and follows by showing us a name tag that reads, “Dileep Kumar - Civil Police Officer”. Vishnu Unnikrishnan is then revealed in a police uniform, with a big smile.
The motion poster was shared by big names of the Malayalam industry like Prithviraj Sukumaran, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Asif Ali. The short video also adds subtle elements of a thriller, with someone speaking over the police walkie-talkie.
The film, which is touted to be a feel good family thriller, is written and directed by P.R. Praveen. The makers have hinted at a summer vacation release for the movie.
With Vishnu playing a police officer for the first time in his career, the movie also stars Surabhi Lakshmi, Aditi Ravi, Vishnu Govindan, Vinod Thomas, Sagar Surya and others.
Kuri is backed by Kokers Media Entertainments, who have previously delivered some memorable Malayalam films such as Koodum Thedi, Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Summer in Bethlahem, Oru Maravathoor Kanavu and Pattanapravesham.
Vishnu Unnikrishnan, who got his big break in 2015 after co-writing Amar Akbar Anthony with Bibin George, was last seen in Krishnankutty Pani Thudangi. The revenge horror flick co-starring Saniya Iyappan is available to stream on ZEE5.
