After his performances in Thankam and Mukundan Unni Associates were lauded by the audience and critics alike, actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan is next forward to the release of his comedy-entertainer Kurukkan.

The film, which is helmed by Jayalal Divakaran, is also special to him as it would see him sharing screen space with his father Sreenivasan. The movie, in fact, marked the latter’s comeback after a hiatus while recovering from illness.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay recently, Vineeth talked about the film, which is currently in its post-production phase. “It’s an out-and-out comedy and so, in terms of performance, you should hit the right meter. It becomes all the more important in a movie like this, which has a lot of loud humour, for you to time and perform accordingly. I am hoping that I could strike that balance and I am waiting to see how it turns out after the post-production.”

Apart from Vineeth and Sreenivasan, the movie also has Shine Tom Chacko and Aju Varghese as part of the cast. The film is scripted by Manoj Ramsingh, who had written Minnaminungu that had fetched Surabhi Lakshmi her National Film Award for Best Actress.

Meanwhile, Sreenivasan will also be sharing screen space with his younger son Dhyan in director Vinay Jose’s Aap Kaise Ho, which is also a comedy. The film also has Ramesh Pisharody, Dharmajan Bolghatty and Aju Varghese as part of the cast, along with Surabhi Santosh who plays the heroine.

“It’s a comedy based on what happens when old friends get together for a bachelor party and fun antics they pull off. It’s based on a lot of situations that people can relate to,” Vinay had earlier told us.

Dhyan and Aju will next be seen together in Khali Purse of Billionaires, which is expected to hit theatres on March 10. The movie has the duo playing entrepreneurs who are struggling to get their start-up business going.
