The makers of Prithviraj’s Kuruthi dropped the first video song from the movie ahead of its release. Directed by Manu Warrier, the movie is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 11.
The song, written by Rafeeq Ahamed, is composed and arranged by Jakes Bejoy. Sung by Kesav Vinod, the song is a slow-paced melody that gives the listener a feel of heartbreak. The music video mainly features Roshan Mathews’ character Ibrahim. Prithviraj released the music video on his social media page, captioning “Ibrahim’s Pain”, and the music video confirms this.
Kuruthi is a socio-political thriller that is directed by Manu Warrier, who predominantly works in Bollywood and has previously helmed the Hindi romantic drama Coffee Blossom. Written by Anish Pallyal, the movie revolves around Ibrahim, whose beliefs are challenged after another wreaks havoc, seeking vengeance from the one whom the former has promised to protect.
Bankrolled by Supriya Menon under the banner of Prithviraj Productions, the movie stars Prithviraj, Roshan Mathews, Murai Gopi, Srinda, Shine Tom Chacko, Manikandan Achari and Mammukkoya.
Jakes Bejoy is its composer while Abinandhan Ramanujam is the cinematographer for the movie, edited by Akhilesh Mohan.
Kuruthi was scheduled for a release in May earlier this year, but was pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic. The thriller is now set to release on Amazon Prime Video on August 11.
Prithviraj was last seen in Cold Case that premiered on Amazon Prime Video and opened to mixed reviews. The actor is currently directing Mohanlal in Bro Daddy.
