The first Friday of September invites fans of romance to the theatres with two exciting and promising love stories hitting the big screens. One of the two is Shiva Nirvana's Telugu film Kushi which stars Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles and it is safe to say at this point that the anticipation for the film is quite high among the audience.
The advance bookings for the film began earlier today, on August 30, and evidently, the makers are ensuring that the film receives a wide release across not just the two Telugu states but also other regions of South India.
Kushi to hit the ground running
Karnataka has been a vital box office region for Telugu films over the years with the city of Bengaluru proving to be quite favourable to Telugu superstars. Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is still in theatres, has already done exceptional business in Karnataka and so have several other films of the past. Team Kushi, with this in mind, has announced itself and will have shows starting in Bengaluru as early as 6 am on Friday, September 1. As of August 30, the film already has close to 90 shows to its name in Bengaluru alone and this is discounting the Hindi and Tamil shows that are part of the release roster.
Advance bookings for Kushi have also begun in other key Karnataka areas like Mysuru, Mangaluru and Shivamogga.
Kushi to meet Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A at the box office
But the theatrical run in Karnataka may not be as smooth as expected for Vijay Devarakonda, Samantha & Co. because of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A. The Kannada film stars Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth and has been directed by Hemanth M Rao, one of the freshest voices of modern-day Kannada cinema.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello has generated great enthusiasm in the lead-up to its release so come Friday, the clash between the two films (SSE and Kushi) will be a mighty interesting one. On top of that, both films are love stories at the core, though they are apparently starkly different to one another in terms of tone and sensibility.
