Actor Vijay Deverakonda, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Kushi, on September 1, has been promoting the film aggressively. The actor was recently in Coimbatore for the promotions and he also opened up on Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer, which is breaking one record after another at the box office.

The Kushi actor said that he is yet to watch Rajinikanth's action entertainer. I have to watch jailer. I have a huge backlog of movies and it's the first movie I am going to watch as soon as I get a break. It's breaking all records and I think it's one of the no. 1 Tamil film. I heard that it has crossed more than Rs 500 crore."

He also recollected how he grew up watching Rajinikanth's films back home. "When we were all kids, the dubbed version of Rajini sir's films used to be released here. I didn't know if he was Tamil or Telugu. I went to the theatre and enjoyed films like Annamalai and Arunchalam. We were fans of many of his films.

Vijay Deverakonda added, "Then Suriya anna's films like Ghajini and Surya S/O Krishnan started coming and later Dhanush's films. We have been huge fans of cinema coming from Tamil. Recently, Surya S/O Krishnan (Vaaranam Aayiram) and Raghuvaran B. Tech (Velaiilla Pattadhari) had a re-release in Telugu and it was mental. You should see the screens and how people were celebrating these films. We watched in theatres and enjoyed each of them. Now, actors are collaborating from across the industries."

Kushi has Samantha teaming up with her Mahanati co-star Vijay Deverakonda . Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar and Saranya play supporting roles.
