Shiva Nirvana is the writer, director and lyricist of the romance drama

The Mahanati duo - Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha - is returning for a full-blown romance drama Kushi, written and directed by Shiva Nirvana. Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling the film that’s set to hit screens worldwide on September 1. The film will release in five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Hesham Abdul Wahab is scoring the music for the project, making his Telugu debut, after rising to prominence with Hridayam. Multiple songs from the film are out already - the title track, Na Roja Nuvve, Aradhya - and they have opened to encouraging responses from audiences across multiple languages. After generating considerable buzz with the music, the trailer was launched today.
The glimpse takes off when Viplav, the protagonist enters Kashmir and is head over heels in love with a girl. While he mistakes her to be a local, she later reveals that she’s a Brahmin. Viplav and his lady love Aradhya go against the wishes of his parents to marry and lead a happy life initially. However, there are newer twists and turns to their relationship with time and the two bicker over petty issues.
Viplav is surprised to notice the unusual changes in Aradhya’s behaviour and the latter experiences the same issue with him as well. Aradhya suspects that the astrological predictions for their marriage made by her father are indeed coming true. How will they deal with the highs and lows of marriage? The trailer ends with Viplav claiming that he’s a feminist.
Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar and Saranya Pradeep form the supporting cast. G Murali has cranked the camera for the project whose crew comprises editor Prawin Pudi, production designer Jayashree Lakshminarayanan, art directors Utthar Kumar, Chandrika, stunt designer Peter Hein too.
