Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai: Tale of a true incident with elements of humour and romance

ZEE5 on Thursday announced the Punjabi actor Jassie Gill-starrer film Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai. The Ssaurabh Tyagi directorial also marks the debut of the Indian television star Surbhi Jyoti. The anticipated film is said to be based on the famous meme that went viral a few years ago where Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai was written on a currency note.

The film follows the quirky love story of a young couple in Uttar Pradesh, Sintoo and Sonam Gupta portrayed by Jassie and Surbhi respectively. The plot later develops into the incident of the currency note written about Sonam Gupta.

The Indian OTTgiant shared the latest poster of the upcoming film on Instagram featuring the leading jodi with a quirky caption that reads, “Pata chalega sabhi ko, jald hi sirf #ZEE5 par #KyaMeriSonamGuptaBewafaHai #BewafaOrNot (sic).

The Qubool Hai actress also shared the poster on Instagram with the same caption.

Meanwhile, the hero of the anticipated comedy-drama film also shared the same through his Instagram handle and funnily wrote, “#KyaMeriSonamGuptaBewafaHai ? Pata chalega sabhi ko, jald hi sirf #ZEE5 par.. This September (sic).”

Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai also marks the final film of the late actress Surekha Sikri, who died last month due to cardiac arrest at her Mumbai residence. The veteran actress will appear in a pivotal role.

Presented by Jayantilal Gada, the forthcoming comedy flick also features Vijay Raaz, Bijendra Kala and Atul Shrivastava in significant roles. This is also veteran actress Surekha Sikri's last film. Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai will premiere on ZEE5 next month.
