L2 Empuraan out on OTT: It features a star-studded cast, including Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas, with Prithviraj helming it

L2 Empuraan, the recently released Malayalam action thriller film starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is now available for streaming. Directed by actor Prithviraj, the film is the second instalment in the three-part franchise Lucifer . While we wait for the news on the third part, you can stream Empuraan on JioHotstar. The film is available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Actor Mohanlal, who is awaiting the release of his film Thudarum co-starring Shobana on April 25, was last seen in Malayalam action thriller film L2 Empuraan. The film is penned by Murali Gopy and has actor Prithviraj Sukumaran wielding the megaphone. Debuted in theatres in March, L2 Empuraan is now available for streaming. JioHotstar has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Subaskaran Allirajah and Gokulam Gopalan under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Lyca Productions and Sree Gokulam Movies, L2 Empuraan boasts a star ensemble, including the likes of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, among others. Pranav Mohanlal plays the younger version of his father's onscreen character Khureshi-Ab'raam aka Stephen Nedumpally.
However, it wasn’t an easy release for Empuraan which as caught in controversy after some right-wing groups condemned the film for certain portions which depicted riots akin to Gujarat riots of 2002. Modifications were made to the film, with Mohanlal also writing an apology note on social media.
