L2 Empuraan teaser was unveiled recently and the internet is still discussing the symbolisms and relevance of various scenes from the short glimpse of Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film. L2 Empuraan is set to be Mohanlal’s first release of 2025, after Thudarum failed to keep its earlier release date of January 30. In a recent chat, the Malayalam superstar spoke about L2 Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, which is being mounted on a massive scale.
Mohanlal, who is gearing up for the launch of L2 Empuraan, recently sat down for an interview with Kerala Minister for Culture and Youth Affairs Saji Cherian. During the chat between the high-profile personalities, Mohanlal spoke about how L2 Empuraan, the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy.
“It is a huge film, not in terms of finances. We have shot in various places across the world. We have shot in Dubai, UK, US and more,” the Lucifer actor said, while adding that actors from Britain and Greece are also part of the highly-anticipated film.
“The story happens in the US and UK. Though Lucifer (plot) is related to Kerala, L2 Empuraan will reveal who Khureshi-Ab'raam is,” Mohanlal explained.
For those of you who are yet to watch Lucifer, the 2019 film ended with Mohanlal’s character revealing himself to be Khureshi-Ab'raam. Up until then, the film revolved around the lead character, Stephen Nedumpally (played by Mohanlal), shown as an influential politician in Kerala. But the last scenes showcase him in a dapper attire of black suits and glasses and addressing himself as Stephen Nedumpally.
Fans awaiting the big release of L2 Empuraan on March 27, 2025, would be hoping that Prithviraj and writer Murali Gopi would give them a satisfying answer to this pressing question.
Another highlight of the film is the ensemble cast which features the likes of Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier Indrajith Sukumaran and Prithviraj himself along with Mohanlal. Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, and Fazil are also part of the much-awaited Malayalam film.
