Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead has a lot of expectation around it before its release. The movie is also special to a lot of South Indian moviegoers because it also marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu star Naga Chaitanya. The actor has now opened up about what advice he received from his father Nagarjuna.

Talking to PTI as reported by Times of India, Naga Chaitanya revealed that his father had told him that his own Bollywood debut back in the days was not planned and that it happened organically and that Telugu stars could perform without a certain expectation that the audience have in Hindi cinema.

“He gave me the same advice, 'Go do the characters you've always dreamt of doing as an actor. It doesn't have to be the main lead. As long as your character has an essence throughout the film and you take the step forward in some way, use that as an opportunity and explore yourself more,” he added.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. The movie has Chaitanya play the role of the titular character's best friend that he meets in the army. The movie has received good reviews following its release.

“Kudos to Atul Kulkarni for penning the adapted screenplay for Laal Singh Chaddha, keeping in mind how our country has shaped in the last five decades. Also, congratulations to Advait Chandan, who took on the challenging task of directing this film and succeeded admirably,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Laal Singh Chaddha, which also features Mona Singh and a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan, is now available in theatres near you.
