Laal Singh Chaddha box office collection day 5: Aamir Khan’s movie could become one of the biggest flops of his career

Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, hit theatres last week. While it was a highly-anticipated movie, it has failed to draw the audience into theatres. Laal Singh Chaddha could end up being one of Aamir’s biggest box office flops.

Laal Singh Chaddha has only managed to collect Rs. 7.87 on its fifth day (Monday), according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The movie’s five day collection is less than the opening day collection of Aamir Khan’s last movie, Thugs of Hindostan.

Having made only Rs 11.70 on its opening day, the movie also failed to make best use of its extended Independence Day weekend. The total collection of Laal Singh Chaddha has still not crossed the Rs. 50 crore mark, meaning that it will fail to become a box office hit at this rate. 

“Laal Singh Chaddha is for people who are craving to watch an out-and-out drama, which has been a miss on the big screen for a very long time. The film makes you cry, laugh, and leaves you gasping at the way our country has changed over the years,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay. 

Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead, the movie features Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in important roles, with the movie also marking the Hindi acting debut of the telugu star. Laal Singh Chaddha is now available in theatres around the country.
