Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar’s movies Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan are still struggling at the Box Office. They have not crossed Rs. 50 crores even now. In fact, they saw their poorest performance on day six.
Both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan’s Box Office collections dropped drastically on day six. They both saw 70% drop from day five Monday (Independence Day holiday).
Laal Singh Chaddha collected Rs. 2 crores only on day six (first Tuesday). The movie minted Rs. 8 crores on Monday. On the other hand, Raksha Bandhan’s collections fell from Rs. 6.25 crores on Monday to Rs. 1.65 crores on Tuesday.
Both the movies might just pick up again on Thursday because of Janmashtami but so far, it has not managed to mint Rs. 50 crores nett. At the end of the week though, Laal Singh Chaddha is expected to earn in the range of Rs. 53-54 crores while Raksha Bandhan might end at Rs. 40 crores.
Right till Monday, Laal Singh Chaddha showed very little promise but performed better than Raksha Bandhan. The movie had a better Box Office opening at Rs. 11.50 crores as compared to Raksha Bandhan’s Rs. 8 crores.
Aamir’s film has seen double digits but Akshay’s movie is yet to see that happening. Laal Singh Chaddha had picked up on Sunday and collected Rs. 10.25 crores, only to see a constant and now, steep drop at the Box Office. Raksha Bandhan has seen a similar trend. The movie performed in the range of Rs. 8 crores on both opening day and on its first Sunday.
Going by the current trends, these movies might struggle to survive at the Box Office for another week. We can now only wait to see if Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa performs well in theatres.
