Pankaj Tripathi has been mesmerising his fans with his versatile roles in his projects for years. The ace actor is now set to be seen as calm and composed istriwaala in his upcoming short film, Laali. The makers have dropped the trailer of the movie today.

The latest official video begins with showcasing Tripathi in a traditional sherwani. The actor opens the door of a dark store room, goes inside and slides the cloth hangers from above his head. He jumps up and down to check the fitting of his sherwani. After that, he sits down on a pile of clothes and starts opening the buttons of his kurta.

Furthermore, the actor can be seen doing quirky things in the video. At one point he has a conversation with a red dress lying on his bed beside him.

Interestingly, the whole trailer is without a single dialogue and has been presented with a background score.

The interesting synopsis of the film reads, "An istriwaala. A red dress. The streets of Calcutta. A story of love, longing and laundry, that tugs at your heart."

The Abhiroop Basu directorial is said to spread some pure cinema magic for the movie-buffs.

Laali has been the official entry for the 2021 New York Indian Film Festival.

Written by Basu himself, the music in the project has been composed by Akash Shah.

Laali, which also has Ekavali Khanna, Vann Adrik, Hinal Aswani, Prashant Barot, Dalpat Bapu, Jiya Bhatt, Raj Bhavsar, Kabir Daiya and Devanshi Gharekhan among others, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on June 17.

Meanwhile, Tripathi is also gearing up for one of his highly anticipated films, Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga alongside Sayani Gupta. With a unique storyline, the thriller movie is all set to have a theatrical release on June 24.
