The film Lakadbaggha is the first attempt in Indian cinema to tell a tale of an animal lover vigilante

The film Lakadbaggha, a tale of a young man who is an animal lover vigilante, starring Anshuman Jha, Ridhi Dogra, Milind Soman is all set to be released theatrically on January 13, next year.
The film had its World Premiere at the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival last night and received huge appreciation from the audience and critics.
The director of the film announced the release date on the same occasion.
Talking about his film director Victor Mukherjee said, "While the movie is a social commentary inspired by a few real events - the action will surprise you. Anshuman has always been experimenting with the characters he plays on screen, but this time he has taken it a notch higher."
He also mentioned how the actor who is playing the protagonist in the film trained extensively and his transformation in this film will surprise everyone.
According to the director other actors in the film be it Riddhi, Milind - everyone came out of their comfort zone.
Sharing more on the story of the film Victor also said, "At it's core, Lakadbaghha is a movie about a person who goes beyond his capacity to unravel the truth and protect Indian stray dog breeds. I hope the movie turns out to be a good start to the year in the movie industry."
The story of the film is quite unique and interesting as it revolves around an animal lover, Arjun Bakshi, who is unearthing some of the illegal animal trade rackets and trying to save a rare species of the Indian Striped Hyena, also called the Lakadbaggha. The way he goes through a struggle to break the nexus, to save the hyena that is kidnapped from Corbett National Park and also sold on the black market, and through the process, a beautiful friendship develops between man and animal, sets the narrative.
Talking about his film and his character Arjun, that he is most excited for, Anshuman said, "Lakadbaggha is my love letter to dogs(and animals at large) and I can't wait for the world to meet Arjun's character on January 13."
Elaborating more on his role the actor said that Arjun is ordinary and that is his superpower. The actor believes that it is a universal film with an Indian soul set in Kolkata and the action is nothing like anything you have seen before.
Riddhi who is playing a pivotal part in the film shared, "Lakadbaggha is truly a special film - it has action thrill but also a soul. Akshara, my character is the grey between the world's of the protagonist and the antagonist."
She also added that the film has become extra special for her because it is her big-screen debut.
