Lalitham Sundaram: Biju Menon, Manju Warrier’s family comedy to release on Disney+ Hotstar

The makers of Lalitham Sundaram, starring Manju Warrier and Biju Menon in the lead, have revealed that the movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar. 

The news was shared by Manju Warrier on her Instagram handle along with a poster for the movie. In the caption, the actor called it a special project for her. She added that Bjiu Menon is one of her favourite actors and she is excited to share screen with him. 

Lalitham Sundaram, a family entertainer, marks the directorial debut of Madhu Warrier, who is Manju’s brother.

 Apart from Manju and Biju, the movie also features Deepti Sati, Saiju Kur up, Zarina Wahab, Asha Aravind, Sudheesh, Reghunath Paleri, Vinod Thomas, Anjana Appukuttan, Ashwin Warrier and Thennal Abhilash

The news of the film’s direct-to-digital release was first confirmed by OTTPlay in January. “It’s every filmm aker’s dream to see his or her name on the big screen. But we can’t be selfish under the current circumstances.” the director said when asked about opting out of a theatrical release. 

Backed by Manju and Century Kochumon for Manju Warrier Productions and Century, Lalitham Sundaram is written by Pramod Mohan and edited by Kerala State Film Award winner Lijo Paul.

While the movie’s exact release date is still unknown, it is another big project heading to the streaming platform after Nivin Pauly’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, Dileep’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan and Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran duo’s Bro Daddy.

Manju, who was last seen in Mohanlal led Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, has a long list of movies in the pipeline. She will also be seen in Meri Awaaz Suno, Padavettu, and Vellarikkapattanam.

Biju Menon was last seen in the mystery drama Aarkkariyam and is curerntly working on Ottakkomban and Oru Thekkan Thallu Case.
