Land of Bad – Release date, trailer, plot, cast and more

Land of Bad is director-cinematographer William Eubank’s upcoming venture, after the glorious likes of The Signal (2014) and Underwater (2020). The film’s screenplay is written by David Frigerio and Eubank himself and is a shoutout to the classic action films of the 1980s. It is executively produced by actor Luke Hemsworth, Nathan Mayfield, Tracey Robertson, Tracey Vieira, Vanessa Yao Guo, Jack Bear Liu, Sophie Jordan, and Delphine Perrier.

Land of Bad will enjoy a theatrical release in the United States on February 16, 2024. The film dropped two trailers, and neither has let viewers breathe once throughout the clip. The taut action thriller follows the brutal 48-hour battle for survival that covert Special Forces rookie officer Kinney must win, in order to make it out alive out of the Land of Bad.

The trailers offer a solid view of the film’s plot without giving away the ending. The film will be facing tough competition this Valentines weekend from the likes of Madame Web and The Holdovers in the United States. But its classic premise and taut plot might just carve its niche in the hearts of viewers.

The film follows the mayhem that ensues when a rescue mission of a special co-ops team in the South Philippines goes awry. Instead of being successfully able to rescue captured hostages and covert technology, the team led by Sergeant Abel and Captain Sugar is ambushed by the rebels. The trailers show snippets of rookie officer Kinney, who was a part of their team, as he attempts to survive the ambush, as well as the oncoming air strike, without leaving anyone behind.

The trailers also offer serious and thrilling shots of gory torture and power-packed action sequences. Kinney’s only guide in the hostile terrain? The eyes and ears of their mission, drone operator Reaper, who tries to guide him to safety, determined not to let any officer die in vain

Cast of Land of Bad

The film stars the impressive likes of Oscar winner Russell Crowe as the overseeing drone operator Reaper, The Hunger Games fame Liam Hemsworth as officer Kinney, Westworld actor and brother Luke Hemsworth as Sergeant Abel, This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia as Captain Sugar and Neighbours actor Robert Rabiah as villainous rebel leader Saeed Hashimi in the leading roles. They are joined by Ricky Whittle, Daniel MacPherson, George Burgess and Chika Ikogwe in prominent roles.
