Lankasura is Mari Tiger Vinnod Prabhakar’s first home production under his banner Tiger Talkes. The film, directed by Pramod Kumar, is an underworld tale that also stars Loose Maada Yogi, Devaraj and P Ravishankar in pivotal roles, while Mollywood actress, Parvathy Arun, who was last seen here in Ganesh’s Geetha, is the romantic interest.

Earlier today, Crazy Star Ravichandran launched the teaser of the film, which is quite action packed and has Vinnod in a rough-and-tough avatar. The event, which was the first for Lankasura, saw Vinnod’s friends Abishek Ambareesh, Yashas Surya, Dharma Keerthiraj, among others in attendance, all of who wished him well on the launch of his home banner too.

Speaking to OTTplay earlier, Vinnod had said that Lankasura is an out-and-out action film with as many as five major stunt sequences, each choreographed by a different stunt master. “I have a loyal fan following in B& C centres, where people enjoy hardcore commercial cinema, with the right amount of drama and action. Lankasura has all the elements that will appeal to them,” he had said.

As a first-time producer, Vinnod said that he was ‘safe’ as far as his investment goes, having sold the dubbing rights of his film for fairly good prices. “The Hindi belt is quite fond of action films from south India. I had to show them the film before finalizing the deals. The response has been quite heartening,” he added. Vinnod had also said that he had gone all out to ensure that his film is visually and technically superior.

If Lankasura does finalize September 9 for its theatrical outing, it will be in direct competition with Dhananjaya’s Once Upon a Time in Jamaligudda. Vinnod, though, does not believe that any such competition will hamper the prospects of his film, as he has a dedicated following in B& C Centres.
