This week's lineup offers a wide variety of genres and styles, including thrilling action, historical epics, horror sequels, and biopics with strong characters and performances. Gopichand Malineni's first film as a Hindi director, Jaat (April 10), features Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in a masala action movie. On April 11, there will be a frenzy of releases, such as the biopic Phule about social reformers Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule, the Maratha era saga Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, and the terrifying sequel Chhorii 2 hitting Prime Video. Jaat is written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, who is making his Hindi debut. The film's lead actors are Sunny Deol, Regina Cassandra, and Randeep Hooda, who plays the antagonist. Supporting characters include Doulath Sulthana, Bandhavi Sridhar, Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Vishika Kota, and Praneeta Patnaik. Along with Jagapathi Babu and Babloo Prithiveeraj, supporting villains will be played by Vineet Kumar Singh, Ajay Ghosh, Dayanand Shetty, and others. The inspiring biopic Phule by Ananth Mahadevan reveals the hidden history of the revolutionary reformers Mahatma Jyotirao (Pratik Gandhi) and Savitribai (Patralekhaa), who battled for the education of girls and the rights of widows and the downtrodden. Once upon a time, there was a husband and woman who refused to let a girl finish elementary school and instead forced her into marriage. He was a reformer in society who opted to educate his wife. They went to advocate for more rights for the poor.
It was Sharad Devarajan, Jeevan J. Kang, and Charuvi Agrawal that brought The Legend of Hanuman to life in animation. In this chapter, we see how God Mahadev became a powerful warrior and eventually a god by taking on the shape of Hanuman to serve God Rama. We also see how Hanuman became a symbol of hope in the midst of terrible darkness.

Sakshi and her daughter Ishani have moved on from the tragedies of Chhorii and now live a tranquil life, seven years later. Because sunlight could kill Ishani, she has an unusual illness that makes her live in darkness. However, Ishani continues to be a courageous and joyful child. Ishani is lured away one night by a spectral figure who emerges in her room, almost like a doll with supernatural powers. Ishani is nowhere to be found when Sakshi gets home. She seeks Inspector Samar's assistance in a state of desperation. They end up back in the village she vowed she would never return to as they continue their hunt. Sakshi and Samar encounter long-forgotten horrors in the intricate sugarcane fields. As a malevolent force keeps them apart, Sakshi runs across someone she believed was dead but is instead knocked out cold. The townsfolk worship a wicked god in a subterranean cavern, where she awakens. In three days, the shape-shifting priestess Daasi will reveal Ishani's sacrifice. In order to rescue her daughter, Sakshi must interrupt the ritual immediately.
A historical action film, Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, the second emperor of the Maratha Empire. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar. It is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna are also part of the cast.
As soon as word of Shivaji Maharaj's death reaches the Mogul Empire, Aurangzeb, who believes it to be the end of the Maratha Empire, announces a celebration. There is no conflict, so the Moguls may relax and enjoy life; nevertheless, they are unaware that this tranquillity is really the calm before a storm. Under the leadership of Sambahji Maharaj (Chhaava), the son of Shivaji Maharaj, the Marathas initiate an attack on Burhanpur, the capital of the Moghul Empire. After the city burns to the ground, Aurangzeb learns that Shivaji's son is carrying on his heritage. Yesubai, Sambhaji's wife, welcomes him home. However, Soyrabai, Sambhaji's stepmother, and her brothers are plotting against him to ensure that Rajaram, her son, becomes king. By the time he reaches Burhanpur, Aurangzeb has vowed to stay uncrowned until he vanquishes Sambhaji and wreaks havoc throughout Maharashtra. In the meantime, Sambhaji receives word of Soyrabai's plot from Aurangzeb's son, Baadshah Akbar, and swears to shield him from the Moghuls. The Moguls feel embarrassed every time they serve Sambhaji. As he grows older, Aurangzeb can't shake the desire to reclaim his reign.
