After last week’s surprise OTT release Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, there aren’t too many widely-anticipated Kannada films left from the 2025 pile of movies that released in theatres. The better ones are either already on OTT or counting down to their date with streaming audiences. One such is Nimma Vasthugalige Neeve Javaabdaararu, which, despite good word-of-mouth, took a while to get an OTT deal in place. It’s finally coming to streaming this week.
In theatres, the ‘big’ release is Vishnu Manchu’s Telugu original Kannappa, which is what National Award-winning filmmaker D Satya Prakash is competing with at the box office this week.
Director Keshav Moorthy’s anthology, Nimma Vasthugalige Neeve Javaabdaararu, comes to OTT 5 months after its theatrical outing. The film, which tells three tales of theft, had received positive reviews, but struggled with theatre retention. Dileep Raj, Prasanna Shetty, Apoorva Bharadwaj, Shilpa Manjunath, Govind Madhusudhan, among others, are on the cast of the film.
