Kannada audiences do not have much to cheer about by way of theatrical or OTT releases this week – there’s Diganth’s comedy thriller Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana, which seems promising, but given how people have been indifferent to theatre visits, it remains to be seen how the film fares. On OTT, there are a few options to check out, but they are all dubbed versions of either Malayalam or Tamil films, including one that was a box office hit when it first came out.
Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen and Sandeep Pradeep take on lead roles in writer-director Manu Swaraj’s Malayalam film Padakkalam, which comes to OTT just a month after its theatrical outing. The film revolves around the tussle between two faculty members at an engineering college over a coveted post, which sends them and a few students on an unexpected adventure of supernatural events. The Malayalam original film is streaming with Kannada audio too.
