Latest Kannada OTT releases (September 1- September 7) - Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.

In the month before Kantara Chapter 1 hits theatres, a bunch of smaller films will be available to Kannada audiences in movie halls. The buzz is that some of the more popular film releases of will be on OTT this week, although there have been no official conversations.

The hit Kannada comedy Su From So is said to be the week’s big OTT release, but so far, there’s been no confirmation from the makers or the streamer. The film follows Prasad (director-actor JP Thuminad), who pretends to be possessed when he gets caught in a sticky situation. How the whole village reacts to this news and the identity of the spirit now inhabiting his body forms the crux of the story. The film also stars Raj B Shetty, Shaneel Gautham, Sandhya Arekere, among others.
Streaming on JioHotstar (and OTTplay Premium) from September 5, 2025 (expected)

The Telugu devotional film starring Vishnu Manchu in the title role, in a tale chronicling his journey from being an atheist to becoming an ardent Shiva devotee will be on OTT this week. The film, which had cameos from the likes of Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, among others, also starred Preity Mukundhan. Kannappa was a box office failure.

Debutant director Punit Rangaswamy’s Elumale is a thriller set over one night in 2004, as a young couple tries to meet each other amid crime, conspiracy and chaos. According to reports, the film, produced by Tharun Sudhir is set on the night that forest brigand Veerappan and his aides were killed in an encounter with the police. The film stars Ek Love Ya fame Raanna, debutant Priyanka Achar, Jagapati Babu, Kishore, TS Nagabharana, among others.

Rakesh Adiga and Rachana Inder lead the soulful sequel to Nanu Matthu Gunda, with the story continuing with the unshakeable loyalty of Gunda, who waits by his master's grave after Shankara's emotional sacrifice. The film follows a heartwarming tale of rebirth, as Shankara is reborn and fate brings him back to the very dog he gave his life for. Also starring Manju Pavagada, Vijay Chendoor, Girish Shivanna.

Rudhiram, directed by Jisho Lon Antony, was meant to be Kannada actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty’s Malayalam film debut, but when it got delayed, Turbo became his first. The mystery thriller eventually came out in December last year to underwhelming response. Raj and Aparna Balamurali led the film about a respected physician, who keeps a young woman and her dog captive. The film is yet to get an OTT outing and now, its Kannada dubbed version is set to hit theatres.

A: Tulu theatre artiste and actor JP Thuminad, who has acted in Kannada films like Ondu Motteya Kathe, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, Toby, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B and Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, has written and directed the horror comedy Su From So. JP has been a long-time member of Raj B Shetty’s team of collaborators.
