Malayalam cinema is set to have an eventful week both at the theatres and the OTT space, with back-to-back releases. When it comes to the streaming space, the Malayalam film industry had a dull December so far, with underwhelming releases. However, some of the most anticipated films, are gearing up for their streaming debut this week. The theatres too, are set to have an eventful weekend with multiple releases. The list includes Pallotty 90’s Kids on OTT, Dileesh Pothan and Unnimaya PrasadRifle Club, and Marco, in the theatres.
Latest Malayalam OTT releases (December 2 to December 8, 2024)
Pallotty 90’s Kids on Manorama Max
As per the latest updates, Pallotty 90’s Kids has been slated to have its OTT release after a long wait. The OTT streaming rights of the acclaimed Jithin Raj directorial have been bagged the popular platform, Manorama Max. The Arjun Ashokan starrer will have its OTT release on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at midnight. The movie will also be available to stream on OTT Play Premium.
I Am Kathalan on Manorama Max
Recently, it was confirmed that I Am Kathalan, the latest release of the Premalu actor-director duo Naslen K Gafoor and Girish AD, is gearing up for its OTT release. The streaming rights of the cyber thriller film have been bagged by Manorama Max. If the recent updates are to be believed, I Am Kathalan might make its stream debut on the platform, on December 20, 2024, ahead of Christmas 2024. However, the reports are not officially confirmed yet.
Rifle Club on theaters
The multi-starrer action thriller film directed by Aashiq Abu is slated to hit the big screens on December 19, 2024. Rifle Club, which features a massive star cast including Dileesh Pothan, Unnimaya Prasad, Darshana Rajendran, Vijaya Raghavan, Suresh Krishna, Vani Viswanath, Ponnamma Babu, Surabhi Lakshmi, and others, is set to have a grand theatrical release across the globe, just in Malayalam, with subtitles.
Marco in theatres
The long-awaited violent action thriller film, which features Unni Mukundan in the titular role, is gearing up for its theatrical release on December 20, 2024. Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, features Yukti Thareja as the female lead, while Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu Thilakan, Anson Paul, and Kabir Duhan Singh essay the supporting roles. The movie is touted to be a spiritual sequel to the director’s 2019 outing, Mikhael.
